Privacy Policy
Last updated:
No accounts, no forms and no ads. Google Analytics counts page views, and only if you accept cookies.
Who is responsible
SurrounDead DB is run by Records Herald. For anything in this policy, email recordsherald@gmail.com.
What is processed, and why
- Analytics, if you accept. Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) shows which pages are used. Google receives your IP address (used for rough location), your browser and device type, the pages you view, and a cookie identifier. See Google's privacy policy.
- Visiting the site. The host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (IP address, browser, page and time) to serve pages and block abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Emailing. Your address and message are used only to reply, and never shared.
The legal basis for analytics is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. For hosting and email it's legitimate interest: running the site, and answering you. Google and Cloudflare may process data outside your country, including in the United States.
Cookies and storage
- Essential. Your cookie choice, saved in your browser so you aren't asked on every page. Cloudflare may also set a security cookie to block abuse.
- Analytics, only if you accept. Google Analytics
cookies (
_ga,_ga_*), which tell visits apart and expire after two years.
Analytics is off until you accept. To change your choice, clear this site's cookies and storage in your browser and you'll be asked again.
How long it's kept
- Analytics: 14 months, then deleted by Google.
- Hosting: Cloudflare's short-lived logs.
- Email: only as long as needed to handle your message.
Do Not Track
The site doesn't respond to Do Not Track signals; your cookie choice controls analytics instead. Apart from Google Analytics, with your consent, no third party collects information about you through this site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use. Email the address above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The site isn't directed at children under 13, and no data is knowingly collected from them.
